This is my bass flute. I've played several bass flutes and this one is my favorite. It's the easiest to play and has the best intonation with the most consistent voice throughout its range.

I also recently played very briefly a very old bass flute that had been restored. It belongs to Iris Reynolds on Crane Island. It was a lot like the Emerson - had a nicer, more focused tone in the midrange than my Jupiter, a beautiful tone in fact, but its lowest notes didn't come out well for me and the key action was not quite as smooth.
