This is my alto flute. I've played three alto flutes and this one is my favorite. It's the easiest to play and has the best intonation with the most consistent voice throughout its range.

Read my comparison of this flute with the Sonare alto flute.

This flute has a sonorous, smooth velvety tone in the bass and midrange. It is a truly wonderful sounding flute. But as it goes into the top octave the tone deteriorates a bit. It still sounds acceptable, but not as beautiful as in the midrange and bass. This seems to be the main tradeoff of a budget alto flute.

I like this instrument a lot. It has a beautiful tone, smooth quiet solid key action and is easy to play. The only real drawback is typical of all alto flutes with straight headjoints: it is not comfortable. The straight headjoint has to be pulled out about 1/2" to tune A=440, which has my arms pretty far off to the side. A curved headjoint cures this problem but introduces intonation problems. I have long arms (34" sleeve) so it's no big deal.
