Except where noted, these are all MTB rides on mostly good dirt roads. They could be done on a road bike with the right tires.

Dolphin Bay Loop: 13.5 miles
3 miles pavement, 10.5 miles dirt
climbing: moderate, technical: easy, time: 65 minutes

Start from our house and go down Mountain Crest Drive. Turn R onto Honeysuckle, then R onto Kurth which becomes Pinneo. This section is a narrow, bumpy road, muddy fall, winter & spring. You'll pass by Eagan's old dead vintage cars laying around the forest. From Pinneo turn L onto the Orcas Highway. After 1/4 mile on this pavement turn L onto Eastman Rd. Follow Eastman up to where it forks to Mt. Woolard and bear R at the fork. Lots of mailboxes at this fork - you can't miss it. After 100 yards or so turn L into Darwin Crest Trail. This is a nice single track that goes for about a mile or so. It's usually empty but watch out for horses and pedestrians due to the thick foliage and limited visibility. This dumps out onto La Porte road with Victorian Valley on your R. Follow LaPorte until it "T"s onto Dolphin Bay and turn L - you're back onto pavement. This goes uphill, then back down, past a lake on your L and becomes a dirt road. Continue and it goes through 2 short steep uphill segments. At about 8.5 miles on the odometer, it peaks and heads downhill. It's a fast dirt road downhill (you'll hit 40 MPH) so watch out for big trucks coming up towards you around the blind turns. You'll bottom out near some horse ranches, curve around to the left and head uphill into the trees. After it peaks the downhill is very fast and generally smooth but watch out for potholes and big trucks. When you pass Elsie Rd. on your L it becomes pavement. Another mile or so and turn L onto Mountain Crest Dr. Go up 1.85 miles back to our house.
