Monte Rosa (14 images)

In 1926, Fred Ewing (age 19) and Carl Anderson (age 20) won the Caltech Junior Travel Prize for a six-month trip to Europe. While there, they climbed Monte Rosa in Switzerland, the second highest peak in the Alps. On their way to the climb they also got a view of the Matterhorn, a Swiss Alps lake, and a Swiss Alps river.
