Emma got to see her good friend, Chloe, from Southern California. Chloe and her parents, Carla and Jim, made a stop in Seattle to stay with us on their way home from a trip to Alaska. We rode the new ferris wheel on the wharf in downtown Seattle. We had lunch at the Space Needle while enjoying the 360 degree view of the city. In the afternoon, Emma and Chloe went swimming in the Magnolia pool.

Emma took swim lessons at the Magnolia pool the last two weeks of the summer to improve her strokes. She finally learned to do butterfly! During the Labor Day weekend, we took a walk on the beach in Magnolia with friend Bernd. Emma built a house from remains of a brick wall that were buried in the sand.
